I tried cleaning the lugs off, but they are so sharp and deep, they shredded the towel, and my fingers

I had to pull these for sale, and refund transaction. Upon packaging them up, the R shoe's tread was separating from the sole after only wearing them twice!! Call CS and started the warranty process.......
