Any Softball storage

I play in a league where you provide you own softballs to hit (must be NSA .52 cor stamped) and a new ball can be put into play at our discretion. My question is:

During hot temperatures can we store extra softballs in a insulated box (cooler) to keep them out of the heat, provided there is no ice, cold packs etc. in the cooler?

Thanks for any input.

I don't see anything wrong with this. You aren't actively trying to heat or cool the equipment, and it's no different from keeping them in an air conditioned RV and bringing them out at game time.

That's not to say that pulling them out of a cooler at game time won't raise some eyebrows or even result in some false accusations of cheating.
