No outs and base runners on 1st and 2nd when the batter hits one up the middle that ends up hitting the base runner that is going to third. What is the call?

Not so fast. OP said ball hit up the middle. If the pitcher attempted to field the ball before it hit the runner, the ball is live. Otherwise, yes the ball is dead, the runner who got hit is out, the batter-runner gets first, and anyone forced to move up is moved up.

USSSA 2010 RULEBOOK RULE 8. BASERUNNING

Sec. 5.
BASE RUNNERS ARE OUT under the following circumstances:
C. When a base runner is struck by a fair batted ball on fair ground while off his base and before it touches a fielder or passes a fielder.

Sec. 12. BASE RUNNERS ARE NOT OUT:
H. When a base runner is hit by a batted ball that has passed or touched a fielder.

RULE 9. BALL IN PLAY AND BALL DEAD
Sec. 2. THE BALL IS LIVE AND IN PLAY:
K. When a fair-batted ball strikes an umpire or base runner after touching a fielder or after passing any fielder including the pitcher/infielder.

that rule about the pitcher is is only if the pitcher makes an attempt, and really it has to be a good attempt at the ball..

the right call should have been.

"Time, you (pointing at Runner on 2nd) your out"
you, 2nd base, you 1st base... pointing at each of the other runners.
