USSSA Weird one I have never seen before

Runner on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out, batter hits a ground ball down the 3rd base line. The runner steps into foul territory, the ball hits the bag and then hits the runner in foul territory.

That's ASA. USSSA is 8.12.M "Base runners are not out"

"while in contact or off a base, the baserunner is hit with a fair batted ball that first hits the base unless the umpire rules that the ball was intentionally interfered with, or a fielder with, while attempting to field a batted ball."

Effect: The ball remains live and all runners remain in jeopardy.
