It's been a while since I've been here and now it's dead. I came to talk Vinci and maybe buy another one but I guess not lol

Maybe the rules have muddied the water on what reps can do? Maybe a slightly less interest in Vinci, but do see them for sale occasionally in the gloves forum. Seems like a lot more interest in Wilson and Rawlings lately. Vinci is still a great glove.

Ding Ding Ding!!!!

Like most other custom product that is not sold by SBF, not much discussion happening or allowed about it here.

It is what it is.

Great leather for sure. Just found the sizing always to be a little small for me personally in their gloves. But gotta say those I know who game them keep them a long long time.

What would you like to discuss?
1961 - Dual Welting - smaller hand stall - starts out at 12.5 stretches to 12.75 when broken in
BMB-OB - Singel welt - large handle stall - Plays al il smaller than measurement but plays wider than all 12.75-13 gloves on the market.

they arent that awesome...jmo. good gloves to be had everywhere

I think the price point is right. But everything is personal preference anyways. I never liked how the a2k/Wilson felt, and feel the JD73 is superior to that. That being said I couldn't get used to the BMB either, but would be willing to try again...I like the Rawlings DCT I own, but still need to break it in to compare to the JBV.

I agree most of the traffic in here has disappeared because the Reps are no longer allowed to sell so most of the questions started to go unanswered since there was no money to be made. People stopped asking because they stopped getting answers. The gloves have honestly gotten nothing but better and Vinci is always looking for new and better way to make the gloves even better...

I started to quote a post, then multi post, then multiple multi quotes. Most of the post valid, some opinion injected but thats GTG.
As far as why answers may be:
Reps cant and dont sell on here;
At one point so many reps were selling on here it became a feeding frenzy, Ball Go Far's coment valid. In an attempt to get Vinci gloves out for players to feel, a program for local reps was established in lieu of a strong stocking dealer network. Many recruits were slow pitch softball players and many gravitated towards this site. At some point SBFs lost interest and stop carrying the Vinci line. For a long time SBFs store still showed Vinci gloves but never updated any info or newer model info. At that point the over abundance of player reps went ape **** when asked a question and almost open bidding wars occurred when posts asked about the product. The reps started to get out of control It became so bad Vinci had to come in and post that they and Escort1958 were the only "official" legit with authority to post specific ***pany answers.
Rules changes were implemented and/or enforced to the point that reps were being banned. It got so bad that SBFs would read PMs from board member to reps and if anything were quoted you would be disciplined and/or nabbed. even though most were told not to sell here.
At some point a migration of members (some fans , some just plain jerks) came over from a glove forum. Many were fans of the bigger glove company's. If someone asked about a glove and a post was made about a Vinci, there were some disparaging post made against the Vinci posts. Some were legit concerns but many were uninformed biased opinions. It was almost as if some one or some company(s) had an agenda against Vinci and there products. I for one took offense to these post's and participated in heated threads
Vinci quality, sizes, models and leathers;
Most older models and leathers were updated and replaced. The new Vinci patterns, particularly 13" and under measure smaller but have very nice pockets. Vinci softball specific 13" plus patterns measure closer to size and are bigger in the hand stall area also. Along with the new patterns new leathers were introduced. Some prefered the old leathers and many apples to oranges occurred. I got tired myself on vicious attacks and PM box snooping and gradually lost interest in the site. I only come one ever once in a while and dont always read through all the posts. I even tried to get SBFs to stock Vinci again and even help them promote and sell the brand, even proposing a percentage of the selling price for being allowed to sell on here. I attempted to communicate my ideas and proposal through various avenues but ways never even given any type of response. I feel like its a BRAVE NEW WORLD with big brother watching

The comment above from smarkley referencing sizes is spot on. Smaller than 13", you are going to wish you ordered 1/4" bigger. Bigger than 13" you will be fine. I had a 12.5" that played like a 12.25" (maybe even slightly smaller). Decided to pick up a bigger glove (can't remember the size or model off the top of my head) and went 1/4" bigger planning for shrinkage and it was dead on. Sizing was frustrating, but the quality of the gloves were top notch in my book.
