Whats the ruling?

Batter pops the ball up 10-15 feet in the air on the first baseline (mi****) runner is running towards first, pitcher is trying to catch the pop-up in the basepath. Runner and pitcher (fielder) make contact, ball drops and rolls foul.

Contact was incidental (runner didn't know where ball was)

What's the call?

Which is totally legal. In fact, he's obligated to do so to allow the defense to make a play on the batted ball.
