so every year I play in this league and there is one senior team, and they are legit. But, they are always swinging senior league bats.... they get called out on it put them away for a game and then are back at it. This is an ASA league. So tonight we are told that only the senior team can and will be allowed to use the senior league bats and not asa.

last year it pissed me off, this year it just doesnt make sense and I kinda laugh about it... but it just so stupid.

Kinda the same principle as a league I used to play in where you could swing any bat and guys swinging Ultra 2's would complain about people swinging shaved bats.

It's an ASA league - so you're hitting .44/375 balls right? Those senior bats won't give them that much of a performance advantage - I swing one in our outlaw league and we hit .44/375 Dudley Thunder Heat balls. Honestly my Synergy Flex outhits my senior bat hitting those socks. Now when we were using .47/525 balls that senior bat smoked the ball - it really wasn't a fair fight then.

I personally wouldn't care. I look at it as having another team to compete against in league. They're seniors for Gods sake. They are at a disadvantage to you in every other way on the field. They run slower, don't track the ball as well, or throw as hard.........So, they get to use Senior Bats?? It's the only advantage they have in their favor.

What if there is no "senior league"??? I have no desire to play against a 58 year old man swinging an Combat Gear Afflicted. I want to compete. The bat is the only advantage they have over young guys.

Senior Softballs are .44/375. They will only get a 30-50' advantage using those bats.

+1 I was thinking the same thing. I see a 50 y.o. guy hitting a U2, I'd play normal depth. There are some guys in my league where you see them at the plate with a PST and you take a step back in the infield. I honestly wouldn't care.

It surely doesn't keep the playing field level. You know they should be told there are Senior Leagues exactly made for them.

We have a couple of seniors here that are pretty fast. Faster than some of the younger guys. I know a handful that can crush a ball. Definitely out hit a lot of guys. If they aren't that good I wouldn't worry about it at all. I would rather them swing a senior bat and know what might to expect than them walk up with a shaved bat and not know it.

My team likes to sandbag and we try to beat teams by the highest score we can – complain to the LD that they shouldn’t be allowed to use them.

We play to have fun – it doesn’t matter what they swing, allow them to do it and don’t think twice about it.

We play to be competitive in the highest league we can where we can still compete but not blow teams away – allow them to use the bats because it will only make them better competition.

We feel cheated because we follow the rules and they don’t have to – feel free to complain to LD but remember a lot of leagues apply some of their own local rules, so this is no different than a local league choosing to follow a different rule than ASA, like if you don’t follow the ASA stealing rule.

there are a lot of places where there are no senior leagues,we have only 4 teams here in tyler,tx area to play league,we also use only ASA equipment...

i'm 61 i wouldn't mind you playing normal depth on me ,make my job a lot easier at the plate.... yes there are still a lot of seniors who can mash,it is our running speed,arm strength and such that go first,batting is not one of them tho.
