In January 2012, the Wounded Warriors Amputee Softball Team will take on the FCA All-Stars, for a weekend of exhibition games to remember. The FCA All-Star roster includes Two-Time Olympic Gold Medalist Dot Richardson, Two-Time Olympic Medalist Jennie Finch, Three-Time Olympic Gold Medalist Leah Amico and many other high profile professional players. The Wounded Warrior team is made up of some of our nation’s bravest and most determined heroes, soldiers, and veterans. These young, extremely athletic men have sustained severe injuries resulting in amputation while serving in Afghanistan or Iraq. Through extensive rehabilitation, they have become competitive athletes again. The weekend will be nothing short of challenging, encouraging and motivating and promises to be both an inspirational and an emotional experience for all involved.
In addition to the Pro's Home Run Derby, Autograph Sessions, Raffles, Jersey Auctions, and a private Banquet, VTD and Exceed Sports are hosting a youth tournament that will allow your travel team to play with the pros. The youth fields are located in the same complex as the Plant City Softball Stadium, where the Exhibition Games will take place. The International Softball Federation World Headquarters is located on site, as well. On January 13-15, 2012, teams can meet the world’s greatest players, at the World Headquarters of softball! The tourney entry fee includes over $500 in gifts and merchandise for each team. Travel teams participating in the fastpitch tourney will also be honored on-field during the National Anthem and pre-game ceremonies at the Plant City Softball Stadium Exhibition Games.
