What makes Vinci Gloves so good? Why All the Hype?

Sorry, wrong trajectory
The TJ will be somewhat shorter than your diablo I can guarantee that. The pocket will be much deeper and wider than the Diablo. I know this for a fact as several of my teammates swear by their diablos and they are nowhere near as durable or well constructed as the TJ or any other Vinci. The bordeaux/black TJ are just plain sick looking...

When did this come out, or are you only talking prototype?

Guess it was just a brag post since I have one....:D:D Sorry to mislead like that, but i honestly believe if Vinci puts that combo in production it might be their best selling glove..

Agree 100%! Though now that I look at your sig, I'm assuming you're talking about the mesh version. To my knowledge, they don't have a B&B all-leather version of the TJ.

could be wrong, I thought I saw at least one proto B&B in all leather. But to be honest my Mesh one to me is the sickest glove ever...:D

I have my mesh glove sitting in my living room on an end table, everyone who comes over has to try it on and loves it. Granted there aren't too many Vinci's in Canada. But it's ****ing slick.

Folks prefer the AB74 with mesh versus all leather? Leather where it counts, mesh to cut down on weight? Durability ok?

BMB....TJ1952...I love them both. I wish I could see these in person, because the TJ looks like it is massive, and I definitely don't want a huge trash can on my hand. Then again, I've never played with a true softball cut glove.

I just got my TJ and I was worried about the same thing. I can say the pocket is a black hole but the glove does not feel to big on the hand, and I have a smaller hand.

exactly, this is definately the way to go if you aren't looking for a trap or t-web for the outfield..

I love my heart of the hide. Hinged pocket 12.5 is what I have. Huge pocket and no problems with it at all. Really not sure what else I could want in a glove. Im sure vinci are really nice. I guess if I was looking to by a glove I might look in that direction.

I am sure our teams will cross paths this year... so after we win, you can check out one of my Vinci's. ;)

Well, there are more than a few variables in this main question. First, yes, durability is great. Second, mesh cuts down on 1.5-2.0oz over leather and will stay a touch cooler. The mesh is only the top layer on the back of the glove, we didn't replace the whole back with mesh, so yes, leather where it counts the most.

Third, going from AB74-L to AB74-VM, there are a few differences.

AB74-L is all leather with a closed flex back and leather wrist strap. AB74-VM has the mesh back with a modified open back and velcro wrist strap. So, It's a personal preference and boils down to the wrist strap.

In these pictures, does the TJ appear to be much bigger because the pocket is broken in and the fingers aren't as curled around as the others?

Partially, yes. But a lot of it is that the pocket is really that wide and deep. Post a pic of your 14" Voodoo with a ball in it, and I think we can help you make the right choice.

I like the BMB, but with mostly outfield duty with occasional second base, I think its a bit small. I'm used to playing a 14" Demarini Diablo, and would like to size down some, but not too much. Also, not sure if the Diablo is a baseball or softball cut...if that makes a difference.

if your looking to size down by going with the TJ u will probably be dissapointed. the TJ will swallow the Diablo. the main difference is tho that the weight of the TJ is distributed evenly meaning it doesnt weigh a ton and actually feels like an extension of your arm so u wont notice the size difference in weight.

if u are looking to size down from your 14" diablo i think u should probably look more at the BMB. the diablo u have is more of a taller cut glove and its not even close to comparison of the quality of a Vinci which is much wider and deeper. i used to own the 13.25 Demarini Voodoo and i actually found that glove bigger then my friends 14" diablo. he switched the diablo for a Vinci PJV1972 which is a trap and he isnt looking back at all.

i personally own the TJ and think it is an amazing glove but i think that if u are looking to size down u will be dissapointed especially once its broken in

When the high end leathers are being used it comes down to feel and personal preference more than anything else.

Dunno...wear a glove named after an italian dude or one named after an American town with Native American heritage embedded into its image.

IJS.....nothing wrong with it.
The "Italian dude" is an American who served honorably in the military, Benjamin Vinci.

IS there any list or definitive way to know if the Vinci is a softball or baseball cut?
The gloves on the Vinci site specify which, but I gave them a call to verify my glove. Honestly they have the best customer service around and I've talked to Pete Vinci , the owner almost every time I've called.
I own an a2000, HOH, PRO44, and the Vinci is as good as any of them.

Is Vinci still open? I have sent emails and get a response from their server that it is full and undeliverable. I have called a couple of times and get no answer. I am trying to find out if the PJ 13” is a true 13 inch glove. I had a BMB for years and loved it but it played more like a 12.25 or 12.5 even though it was listed as a 13.
