Another new Gloveworks thread

My newest custom is a gift for my son who will be 3 in November. Whenever we do anything baseball related, he steals the other blue GW so I decided to lean into it and get him a glove with all the blues. Columbia, navy, royal, and azure. Glove is 10.5" GameDay leather. Found a Disney style font that I was able to send to them and get his name.

Way cool....especially with the Disney font!
I'm loving mine. It's a 13.5" GameDay and has taken the place of my PRO-SBT. Took a while to get it broken in where it swallows a softball.

That H-web in the top pic looks super heavy duty! Love the font, love the name more, that’s my son’s name as well.

Do you have to special request the logo on the glove in the bottom left of pic? I don’t see it or the GW logos as options. Now it looks like it is a rectangular logo.

Are you asking about the tan with y web?
Yes, the tan with Y web. I found the logo patch as an option. How do you get that placement of it where it is closer to the thumb than the back of the wrist? What do I ask for in order to get it there? Thanks.

The baseball stitch wrist closure is what moved it over. I'm sure they'd do it if you just asked and didn't want that closure style. If you look on the Personalize tab, under wrist, go to image and select Diamond Leather Patch. Costs a little extra for that one.

Hi, bumping this old thread.

I ordered a custom Gloveworks (Steerhide 13'' softball) yesterday, so I have roughly 2 days for last minute customizations.

1) I didn't specify the steerhide stiffness. Should I keep the default stiffness or request extra stiff? I have about 2 months before I'll need to game it... but I prefer a natural break in (no hot water), and I understand the default is already pretty stiff. Is extra stiff worth it?

2) Should I request extra stiff pinky/ thumb inserts, or keep the default?

3) I understand the softball models have thumb loops, but no pinky loops, is that correct?

4) If I request "long lacing," does that mean the glove will be factory laced looser, or will the laces just be longer giving me the option to loosen them myself?

5) My wrist and thumb are the same color (black). Is there any downside to requesting "Wrist & Thumb one piece of leather" for a cleaner look?

I appreciate any help!

What color are you getting? It will take good honest work to break in extra stiff. I like the extra stiff inserts. I believe no pinky loop is correct. Long laces will just have the extra hanging, not looser. You might be able to ask for it to be laces looser on the comment section of the form. There shouldn't be any downside to the one piece on the wrist, depending on your embroidery/patch options

1) Regular stiff should be fine. I've just handled a softball version in Game Day black leather after 2 years of solid use and it still has a great shape.
2) Personal preference, stiff would be more durable.
3) Correct. Good for TIP use.
4) The lace tips will be long. Request "loosely laced" fingers and web if you want, maybe they can do that!
5) One piece wrist is so much better looking and more comfortable.

Good luck, post pics when it arrives!
