I am sure this has been answered but here goes.
the batter gets a hit, he is running to second the throw is wild and goes into the batting teams dugout.Does the runner get to take third?

I would think at least third, maybe home.
I'm sure someone will be able to quote the rule.
They will need to know the association, ASA, SSUSA, SPA etc.
In some associations it makes a difference where the runner is when the ball is thrown and others where the runner is when the ball enters the dugout.

Its usually one + one so if base runner was heading to second at time of release, the runner would get second and third. if runner was past second when ball was thrown, he would get home SMOKE

I agree, we use the base attained + 2 from the time of the release, therefore he had attained 1st so he gets 2nd and 3rd.
It is the umps call where he was and when it was released.
