trips, i had this convo last night....
assuming Lebron stays clean and out of all scandals......mjaybe wins another ship or mvp etc.....what were the chances a kid like him turned out the way this has? the absurd expectations, the 100 million before ever playing in the nba, the cover of SI, the marrying of his hs girlfriend, the lack of scandals etc.....never has there been such pressure and he, in all reality, exceeded expectations which were nohting short of being an all time great....
seriously.....this was not possible and will never happen again.....it's literally unbelievable
Interesting you say this. I think its less "I can't believe he's a decent human being" because 95% of people are decent at heart. I think its that most people who achieve tremendous success in a public arena like politics, entertainment, sports, etc. are sociopaths. That and there is this tremendous tidal wave of unhappy, bitter people who exist to tear others down. In the internet age, if you do or say something dumb, even in a semi private or private moment, these reptiles will run with it because ruining people better than they are is their raison d'etre.
LeBron has so many haters, and they're not critics anymore, because he is pretty much beyond criticism at this point, they're haters, and they will leave no stone unturned in their quest to demean him. He's a bad tipper, he's this, he's that. Its character assassination, nothing more.
Sad to say, but the only way to gain immunity from these reptiles is to die. Michael Jackson kept a stash of child porn, it is no longer debatable that he raped children and paid their parents to keep it quiet, abused the legal system, manipulated people into pimping out their 2nd and 3rd graders to him in exchange for money. etc. He was a monstrous criminal, a wicked and evil person, but is anyone talking about the news that came out this week about his animal torture videos and stuff? Nope.
