After proves that this MIJ CM3000SBT has game in it for a long time to come. A deep clean and light condition with the "olympic blue" brought it back to life.

You could re-string that lace to go through to the holes in the trap. Not sure how it would look, but it would get rid of that gap!

seems like the best option, sew up the gap, but leave enough room for the lace to run through the trapeze holes.

Rawlings first base mitt

This mitt had been sitting on top of an electrical box at the local sandlot for several weeks. Faded, abused, and rain-soaked, I decided to save it from certain death.
Dried the glove and padding, dyed the binding, added some leather reinforcement, and did a deep condition. Relacing in red lace from Glovesmith.

A vintage Nesco came in for some work. Thumb and pinky loops, palm padding, repair hole in palm/inner shell, a dye job to dark tan, and a fresh relace in traditional tan.

Wow, if you had asked me for my assessment on that Nesco I would have said there wasn't enough left of the lining to save the glove. If you really can pull that off my hat's off to you sir.

That red lace on the Rawlings first base mitt looks great by the way!

The owner says the glove feels so good that he cant let go of it. The repair is taking shape nicely.

It's not easy to align 20+ holes on that palm area, but patience prevails in the end.

Glued in, ready for sewing around the hole to further reinforce the patch.

Dye job is next!

Up next: a Mizuno MZ1320 in for a relace in black. Clean, condition, full relace, and return shipping are all included in the $50 price.

Backstory:
I picked this unidentified Wilson mitt up at a flea market for $8. Always wanted to do yellow or gold lace, but never wanted to invest the $30+ in it. Seen some interest in paracord lacing on FB and thought I'd give that a try. Keep in mind this is a back up mitt for youth players. Found 50 FEET of paracord on Amazon for $5.99 with free shipping.

Lacing with paracord is especially easy as you dont have to worry about which side is up, but cutting/melting/threading the end can be tedious. The paracord added some stiffness back to the mitt, can be pulled tight, and tackles tough patterns easily.

IMO, this would be a good option for entry level youth gloves for kids who love matching their team colors but who don't want to spend $40-50 for a relace when their glove cost about the same. All-in-all a fun and rewarding color change for this tired mitt.

(Oh, and a palm liner added to reshape a badly creased pocket)

"David the Gnome" - LS TPX Pro Flare FL1300C55

Web swap to a mod trap and relace in strong black. I don't know how to describe the lace on this Don Morton exclusive. Not the same as my Pro Flare, Omaha Flare, or any other LS I've seen. I would've ventured to say that it was the same leather as the shell (a la Mexican-made gloves), but the lace shows tan in the middle while the shell shows grey and is stiff (as you'd expect from this Horween).

Another Pro Flare, this one a little cousin of the C55. Oil-infused Horween cleans up nicely. A little conditioning and a relace in black.
