DST Mixed Reviews?

I was looking at the bat reviews (I know they are not accurate), but I enjoy reading people's impute on bats. Anyways I don't think I have ever seen a bat with more mixed reviews then the Miken Freak DST. The only other bat that comes close is the 08 Easton Extended, but we know that there is a good and bad batch for those. I for one love my DST and think it's as good most other post-ABI bats out there, but others on here bash the bat and call it a log. So what gives with the DST? Are there good and bat batches or is it just luck of the draw?

I'd be inclined to believe there's at least a QC difference between bats. Of the two I've owned and the couple others I've hit, there's been a marked difference in NOW feel and performance between some. One of the ones I've had was awful feeling out of the wrapper, one was fantastic. Now the former has at least come around in performance.

I do feel there is some difference like gamble said. I have been noticing this with all post-abi bats is that a lot of people compare the well broken in pre-abi bats to a NOW post abi bat. So, they are not getting a good comparison. Now, I have seen the DST launch quite a few long balls and it is impressive. I never had any issues with mine when I had it and it hit well. To each their own I guess.

I've liked the two DST's I've hit, seen others hit some nice shots with them as well. I bought into the SSR2 hype, traded it within two weeks. It was not a good bat. Gave someone else's a shot later in the year and it was a completely different bat.
