Miken dc41 asa

I second this. But until then i will hold my 2015 future tight lol.

I'm gaming my Insane Blackout.. Favorite bat ever. Was always a Miken guy in the past. Gamed a F98 for years. None of the new ASA only Miken's perform like a few ASA only D's do for me. Almost got a DC41 ASA but would rather wait to see if they ever release a 12"er.

As you may have guessed, the ASA DC 41 was smashing the 44/375s we still use in one of my leagues. In two weeks my league that uses 52s starts, but I hope to hit a little bp with it before then and assess how well it hits those balls. I'll update further when I do so.

I'm looking to trade my barely hit 26 oz... anyone have a 16 ASA Freak black? Looking for something with a few hundred cuts on it. Don't have time to BP these days.

Hit mine against 52s, crappy ones (Thunder SY). Pop off the bat was decent, though it was a cool night so that helped. Managed to hit two liners out. I don't think she's the same as the USSSA version as far as performance but certainly very good. I'll hit some more tonight in another league that uses SY's. I also think this one needs more breaking in than my USSSA version. It does have the start of one very faint spiral on the barrel. Has less than 100 hits, but some of those were with 44/375s.

We've put a few more cuts on mine and it's getting better. If I had time to hit BP and break it in than it would be money. Still trying to trade it for a gamer bat though. It would take me a year to put a couple hundred swings on a bat.

Honestly, it took me and a couple other guys on my team about 100 hits and this thing is ridiculous. I'd find a way to put another 50 swings on it and keep it.

Hit it again last night against the Thunder SY 52s. Those things were SOCKS!!! But, it did hit them decently, couple crisp liners and two homers. This bat definitely needs breaking in, so I agree with the previous posters. It's still got less than 100 swings. I'm hoping hitting 44s in one league will help get some light spiraling going and hitting 52s will help break in the rest and she'll be smoking hot once the temps get into the 90's. Swings just like my USSSA DC though, so it's nice having the same bat basically to swing all the time.

So after tonight I'm def gonna keep the DC. All my guys hit it tonight and it seemed to open up a ton. Actually mid hit an oppo homerun. Hit a couple base hit liners that were def off the sweet spot but when you find it the ball flies.

So your saying BP a bit to open her up and then lights out like the trip DC?

Did you hit any 44's with it at all or just 52's and how many cuts would you say it took to get good?

thx MB

First BP session was with 44/375's. Got a spiral in 50 hits. Put in some bat mallet work on it and prob another 30 or so game hits on it and it's a lot better. It's not lights out but it's def getting better. Haven't hit a utrip DC so I can't compare. I think the mallet work did it. I beat the **** out of it.

I let the base hitters on my team use mine in a double header league Friday, so probably 20-25 cuts. I put my first cuts on it Sunday night, and WOW. Hot and humid (84 and super humid) with a cross wind, first cut was an 375' oppo shot for a GS...since that league is 1hr then 1up, I had to keep it in the park the rest of the time, and that thing was hitting seeds! Double header line: 2HR, 1 Triple, 2 Doubles, 2 singles. Every single swing, the bat sounded better and better. Cant wait to see what it will do when I'm at 150-200 cuts and it's really broken in.

Any more reviews on the DC41? Wondering how it compares to an Insane.

I've not hit the Insane, but a buddy of mine has one and has hit my DC41, and he likes the DC41 better. Helps that the Insane he was hitting was light (25.5oz) for his liking, but he says he feels like mine is so much smoother and the ball really pops.

All that said, the insane only has about 15 hits on it as he just got it Sunday. For the money, it's tough to beat. He bought it from Sports Authority, which is going out of business and had the bat marked down to $125.

Find a local rep and see if you can demo one of each. In my experience with Miken maxload bats, they tend to have a little smaller sweet spot, but their sweet spot is always hotter than most. With this bat, it feels like a giant sweet spot, so much so that I am actually having trouble keeping line drives in the yard if I've got any kind of wind.

Does it swing and feel like the Utrip Dc41, if you have hit that one? One of my favorite bats, would love it if the ASA version felt and swung similar.

This is still the main question. I know that most on here say ASA only is the hottest standard but if I could swing my Utrip DC41 in ASA I'd do it in a heartbeat. I'd also swing my Utrip Sonic + over any ASA only bat for that matter!

Swings exactly the same, though I think the ASA version needs some breaking in to get to where the USSSA version is out of the wrapper.

I think that was a certain shop that started all bat review videos with "too hot for USSSA" that started that. I don't see it. Honestly I think the reason ASA bats don't have USSSA stamps anymore is because bat manufacturers don't want to go to the trouble of making them break correctly like they have to for USSSA certification. USSSA bats would be ASA certified if it was the other way around.

I do all my BP with 52's and my USSSA bats all outhit my ASA bats.

UTrip is fire out of the wrapper. ASA version is hot too, dont get me wrong, but not AS hot. I have heard it opens up at 150-200 cuts and performance is about the same.

I love my utrip DC. I'll swing it over any bat out there, even ASA only's. I can definitely tell the ASA version will need a couple hundred to open up, but I have high confidence it'll perform very well. Just need one bp session with a couple friends and it'll be ready to go.

I've heard that, but mine was hot out of the wrapper too. I cant imagine what it will be like in 150 cuts. I had some of my base hitters use it for two games, so maybe 20-25 cuts before my first swing, and it was a 375' oppo shot. My only problem with it has been I have problems keeping it in the yard. I've hit a few lasers out that may have been 20' off the ground tops the whole way out. Going from my OG Synergy Extended to the ASA DC41 and a full oz of endload is going to be a little bit of a transition, because balls I hit with the Synergy that would have been off the fence are now carrying the yard. I guess that's a solid problem to have, though.

Hitting .52/300s exclusively with the ASA DC41? Leagues and tournaments around here use ASA bats, but .44/375 balls. Wondering if the DC would hold up hitting the 44s.

It will open up quicker and likely break more quickly with the 44/375s, but thing will be nasty until it breaks. How much longer are they going to keep using those? I've only heard of a handful of places still using the 44/375s but all were in the process of making the change to 52/300s.

I play in one league that uses 44s and one that uses 52s. But I won't know until the end of the year how it holds up hitting it all. Definitely hits the 44s very, very well. 52s it hits well but it isn't nearly as hot as the USSSA version. First bat I've ever owned I can't wait to spiral up so it'll get nasty.
