Glad you guys enjoyed the fields as it was an amazing tournament to have for us up here. Our TDs and myself are absolutely worn out but it was worth it that is for sure.

Great ball was played as I enjoyed getting to watch some good teams from the area. Some good surprises in how some teams faired also.

The tide really turned for Franks in I think it was the 3rd or 4th inning of the Ship and Thunderhead could never come back.
You guys did a wonderful job and should be very proud of yourselves. I was wondering how the fields would hold up after the heavy storm rolled through early Sunday morning but the infields were pristine (and as someone who used to work on ballfields I know that's not always an easy task, especially with that many fields being used). Obviously the outfield had some sloppy spots where the water hadn't fully drained but there isn't much you can do with that other than let the day dry it out.

Really nice venue up there for sure. I'd definitely hope you guys get more chances to host nationals. Plenty of hotels, easy access to the fields right off the interstate, plenty of places to lounge around between games.

Thoughts on C Nationals

1 - A lot of good games and close scores. I didn't feel like any team was heads above the rest. Yes, B.O.T./T.N.T. laid waste to a few teams but some teams are going to be at the B/C threshold and take teams down like that. It happens. Dynasty took 3rd and they are good but not unbeatable. We only lost 9-17 to them earlier in the year and we were absolute poop this year.

2 - The only issue with hosting at TI is that my team would prefer to be at the casino than the ball fields. I left up $300 for the weekend so I guess that works out in my favor outside of having any success in the tournament.

3 - Lady Antebellum sucks. If you disagree, you suck.

4 - I heard some whining about the draw. Honestly, who cares. It's nationals. You have to beat every team and there really should be no off games as far as talent is concerned.

5 - I actually have no complaints just stating things I saw.

6 - Hope it's hosted there again in 2019 until OKC-HOF Stadium is open . If not, then so be it but I thought the overall complex and location were good. Fields were groomed before each game and everything seemed to run smoothly. I heard zero complex complaints from any teams.

Rumor Mill is that TI is going to go all Turf infields. 500,000 to do their infields 1,500,000 to do the whole complex. Geno is pushing hard for it. Had people from the Tribal council out there Both B and C weekend to see just how much of an impact that could make, and how many more events they could host

I had a nice chat with Geno about it, he seemed pretty positive on the whole issue. That could be a lot of fun to see

I had heard that they were looking into it. That'd be cool to have an all turf place to play. I've never played on a turf field before.

Jawing thru out the game between both teams. Horrible umpire with a mask.
Big Guy for 3X gets ejected for charging Russell's 2B in the 7th inning down 1 and 3X has no subs so they lose on an ejection

That's worse than when I saw the team a few years back lose at state because the guy stole 2nd off the pitch, and not after it landed. At least stealer guy was making an error out of hustle and trying to help the team, and not out of douchiness.

Yeah I'd hope the team let's him play somewhere else next year. I mean it's bad enough to do that in any tournament, but at nationals?

Gotta hold your **** together at any tournament where you don't have a sub, but especially postseason. Couldn't imagine ending my season because some dude had to be a tough guy.

Uff da! That is rough. Nothing I dislike more than people losing their cool because someone said something that hurt their feelings. Even if they had a sub, doesn't make it any less douchey (sp?)

I walked up about 5 minutes after the end of that game. I was shocked with hearing the way it ended.

Also, that umpire with the mask was TERRIBLE!!! He was calling 3-4 pitches strikes on short batters then changing it. Couldn't get an "illegal" call out of the guy. Absolutely brutal.

Yeah even if the ump is horrible keep it together man. I would tell him to go find someone where else to play.

What an idiot
Was his second ejection of the year but he's normally a super nice guy. Plus the dude freaking rakes. I would assume he'll be with 3X again next year.

Got protested at worlds 3 or 4 years ago with an illegal conference roster against a team we had already played and beat by 20 runs earlier in the year. We play the game at worlds are up plus 10, team that is going to protest waits until bottom of 7th two outs and down 10. Get kicked out of worlds, and our previous 2 wins (we were going to be 3 and 1) are removed. I didnt have a problem purse with them protesting, I had a problem with the coach and manager thinking that after playing conference all year and our roster being visible that it was a good idea to try and play some one not on it. Needless to say I did not return to that team the next year. The previous year, we go down to worlds, but because of flight delays, two of our guys miss the Wednesday morning game at 8am. We have only 10 guys. We are playing some team out of texas, first inning former NFL DE and Major softball player (nameless) gets thrown out of the game, we are now down to 9. Incorrectly we are allowed to keep playing with 9 but when that guys turn comes up to bat its an automatic out. The team we played against beat us by 3 runs. A couple times they walked the based loaded to get to that spot for a 3rd out of the inning, basically taking the bat out of our 1,2 and 3 hitters. Another goofy example of idiots at nationals or worlds.

Those are brutal. The roster one, that's just bad managing, especially if you would have had enough without the non-rostered guy. People are looking for any way to win down there, and aren't above protesting.

The second one is why I'm never running a team that has to fly somewhere. I can barely get guys there on time when it's in the metro. Getting guys there, dealing with flights, rentals and hotels would give me an anxiety attack.

I have guys that think its hilarious to fake being late or hurt. They have no idea the responsibility/pressure I put on myself regarding guys showing up and not wasting other peoples time.

All I know is if I was 3X I would make that guy pay for everyone's hotel room and also give him his pink slip from the team

He was back playing Fall Ball with them last night.....

Like Dennis said above, the guy in question is actually a really good dude, just a mishap in judgment at a pretty inopportune time, is all.

That would drive me nuts. That and the guys say they're in, the back out a day or two before the tourney because they forgot about some thing that they had going on. Put the schedule in your phone on the calendar. Our schedule is set in like February, so you put that on there, then when something else comes up, you can say you're out.

Running teams is fun, but it's a lot of work to not let down the whole team by failing to get enough guys. We have a group that is mostly great, but there are always a couple guys that make it tough.

He better at least bring beer a few times.

In order to protect the big guy from 3X from escalating the situation you'll need an offensive tackle type to try and block him. Looks like Bubs is our only hope for the 3X team for 2019 nationals. Could anyone else even attempt to block him effectively in the state?

The dude sports a mullet year round, I think the beer is implied. Also, if that would have escalated, my money would have been on Mr. Mullet Vs. Russells. Their second basement shoved him and he didn't even move, lol. Side Note: Mr. Mullet played for Heartland when they won C Nationals.

Well, if I would have known about the mullet I would have assumed he drove into every game from the parking lot on a motorized cooler that had a 24 pack in it, and was sitting on his glove as a cushion.

They actually put his pre-game routine on YouTube, as an inspiration to all.
