is this 2005 or 2014? you have 6 guys that are are injury prone and on the downward slide of their career and 1 that is in his prime. that lineup sucks.

Snowden is a hero.
McCann should have hit a few more dingers.

That rf/rc is a joke.

He will probably hit 30-35 in that park if he stays healthy , he has decent oppo power as well and doesn't hit too many to center so he gains a little on both of the corners with the big advantage obviously coming to right field

DBOTY 2011
name me a top free agent pitcher this year

haren is likely to be kept by LA. halladay would consider himself lucky to crack the top 20. tim hudson, while he put up decent numbers.. pretty sure he is, or is almost 40.

you could make a case for matt garza but he did nothing but hurt his value in texas and bartolo colon isn't a front of the rotation guy anywhere but oakland.

i don't consider closers top free agents, but that's just me

Dan Haren to the Dodgers.

Haren used to be a damn good pitcher.

And Yanks can't expect McCann to catch most days, so they must have plans to DH him a lot. So that means they hope Jeter can play some at SS, or better yet 3B. Regardless, this is a short-term lineup.

I think Minnesota will soon regret at least one if not both of those signings. Nolasco hasn't traditionally pitched as well as he did last year and Hughes has been garbage with the exception of that one year. I watched nolasco pitch for the marlins for a few years and he was mostly average at best

Nolasco could pitch well in that park but 46mil is toooooooooooooo much for a pitcher like him

I like Fister a lot but I understand that they have young starting pitching depth and need some financial flexibility, but they seemingly got jack **** for him

they got a lefty specialist, a guy who won't play in the AL, and a guy who's never been above AA. for a really ****ing good #2 starter

Says Tigers are targeting B Wilson. Maybe they were freeing up some cap room to get a legit closer. Trade-offs.

There's no cap. Old man wants a ring before he dies, he'd be better off spending than rearranging and doing trade-offs.

No, I think you were right with the general thrust of your post. I wasn't trying to be a pedant. I think they is exactly what they are doing. I am just not convinced it will work.
