The Mariners have announced that they've hired Amanda Hopkins as a scout in the "Four Corners" area of Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Utah. Hopkins is just 22, but she's lived a baseball life: She played four years of softball at Central Washington University where she served as team captain.

A Yankees bullpen of Betances, Chapman, Miller would certainly be the same level of dominance as the Royals in '13 with Holland, Davis & Herrera and the Reds in '90 with Dibble, Myers, Charlton

Only three relievers in all of MLB had 100 K's or more in 2015. All three now play for the Yankees. That's a scary stat.

Besides the "never voting for anyone in that era" voter it's possible they knew he'd get in and wanted to use that spot on the ballot for someone that may have gotten bumped off. Eliminating guys that were no longer covering baseball was a good start, but they need to do more. Expand the ballot to 12 to help this backlog of players.

Yeah.. 630 Career HR's (Basically averaged 30 HR's per season), Hit .300 plus for 8 seasons, .280 plus 3 more seasons. Had over 90 RBI's 11 seasons. Collective average WAR rating was Plus 4.0.

The three who didn't vote for him need to have their voting rights pulled.

Or maybe have it stay the same so marginal players don't actually get in still for the most part. Create a Hall of Fortunate Health for guys like Craig Biggio.

Also voters are ****ing stupid.

If Biggio played every career game for the Red Sox or Yankees and put up identical numbers, offensively and defensively, he'd be in, his jockstrap would also be in, and he'd be hosting a daytime talk show with Strahan.

National League mid south team? Did he hit 900 home runs? No? Well he can't join the likes of Phil Rizzuto and Bobby Doerr, oh wait they have vastly inferior numbers as middle infielders. Well he can't anyway, because **** that guy, he shoulda been better at getting drafted by teams sportswriters like.

I always enjoyed those Houston teams for the most part. I just thought the only real HOFer was Bagwell. Berkman had a couple of good runs, Biggio was consistently above average, but teams legitimately feared Bagwell.

But yeah if Biggio got in at least we know Pedroia is basically a lead pipe lock if he gets another 5-6 seasons in. Thanks :)

or maybe not put so much weight on the ****ing hall of fame to begin with. it's not like you're even going to go, who gives a **** who gets in or doesn't. you're the ones giving these hack writers with an opinion so out of touch with the actual game all the power because you hold this fake honor up as something sacred.
