MV3 is it that good??

I saw a E rec. player at best hitting a Miken MV3 last night and the ball was jumping off of this bat. I don't think the guy was really that awful of a player but he was no D, C or B player by far.
I sat there and watched him hit the MV3 supermax and I was impressed by how the ball was coming off of this bat.
My question would be is this bat really that good?
I may have to try one.

I actually heard from people the MV-1 is still better, or nearly identical, but it's definitely a great bat. I was between the MV-3 and Easton SCN17BH, going with the Easton though, supposed to get hotter quicker. MV-3 is supposed to take a little longer to break in.

I think it is. I used to swing Easton but took a leap of faith after hearing such good things about the MV-1, I've been swinging my MV-3 since may and the bat is just sick now. I'm not a power hitter at all but I've hit more out this year with the MV-3 than the 3 yrs combined with my 08 stealth + and I most definately noticed a difference with the way the ball shoots off of the bat. It's a great bat you will not be disappointed.

yea, this guy hit a couple of hr's and said, man, I've never done that before.
he shocked himself.
I may have to pick up this bat.
We also played against a team that has good ball players and they were killing the ball with MV3's.
ball jumps off this bat really good.
not sure if there's were stock or not but they guy I saw hitting last night; pretty sure he was hitting a stock bat from the way it sounded.

is your 28oz. true to sticker weight or does the actual weight go over 28oz.?

Ya know I've never actually weighed it, I've always wondered what the actual weight is, I've had a couple of guys that typically 28oz balanced and they thought that it was heavy, my guess is its probably more like a 29oz, If I could go back I would've gotten a 27oz supermax but whatevers clever I love the bat.

Obviously, a Supermax is going to swing heavy for guys who swing same weighted balanced. The trend I have started to see with Miken is the balanced bats are coming closer to sticker, but the EL are slightly heavier. Remember, they are suppose to be within 1oz of sticker without the stock grip and NIW plastic. keyword: suppose

And on the subject, yes the MV3 is that good.

The MV3 is great bat. My gamer out of my large arsenal..

On a super max actual weight is usually .8 oz over the sticker. so a 26oz weighs in around 26.8 with the wrapper on. now if you take the grip off (.5 oz) it brings it close to the sticker weight.

On a balance bat I've seen them range from .5oz to .8oz, so with the grip off it becomes really close to the sticker weight. Hope this helps.

I have a 26oz Bal MV-1 and a 27oz Bal MV-1. Both have about 500 hits and hit the same. Tried a 26oz MV-1 Supermax (endload) and it felt heavier than the 27oz Balance. The 26oz MV-1 Supermax weighed 26.9oz on postal scale.

I have swung a MV-3 supermax in a 27oz......and I didn't like it at all. The owner of the MV-3 picked up my MV-1 supermax 30oz.....and he now swings it over his own MV-3. In fact....he doesn't like his MV-3 much at all. My MV-1 has a ton of pop....and feels really good when hitting balls. I also have a couple of worths that I consider to be comparable or maybe even a little better than the MV-1 in terms of distance...but its close. Personally I would buy the MV-1.

the mv-3 is a good bat opens up quicker than the mv-1 but doesnt quite have the overall distance as the mv-1 IMO but then again the mv1 i hit had over 1k hits and the mv3 had around 500

i've never used the mv-3,

but sometimes just using a different bat or w/e and finding one that fits your swing perfectly, turns a E/Rec hitter into a better player.... I'm not saying it'll turn him into a All-Tourny "C" hitter or anything but, it does sometimes make a difference...

I know it has for me, with finding a bat that fits my swing...

I've owned a 3 or 4 MV1's and put the first few swings on my Uncle's MV3 when he purchased it and I can say that the MV3 came way hotter out of the wrapper than any of the MV1's I had. Only took about 100 swings to get to where I would use it in a game. If I had the option between the MV3 and MV1, I would go for the MV3. With that said.......Freak Nasty > *

I have a 27oz max mv3 with around 1000 hits on it alot of them where BP but now it just gets used in games and wow its hot, our coed team got accused of using a shaved bat last weekend becouse the girls where hitting to the fence and most of the guys where hitting it out (300' fence). but when i first got it i was thinking that i had got a dud of a bat but after a ton of BP it came alive , started to really open up when we got 600+ hits on it
