Grow up
my guess for safety reasons...makes a lot of sense having a teenager off on her own with no form of communication or the ability to reach her

Damn. You're gonna make me play the old people card and I'm not that old.

" How did kids survive without phones when I was young?"

Get them pagers I guess

WHOOP!!
Yes the flip phone still work on their network. I checked before I posted.

Yes safety is the biggest concern her. She plays all high school sports and select softball.
Plus have another daughter playing select volleyball and basket ball and a son playing multi sports as well makes it hard for parents to juggle all the activities. At least with a phone she can call us and let us know when she is done.

I had the pager also and used the $hit out of payphones which no longer exist in many areas. I use to call collect and hang up and that was my que that I was done doing what I was doing and mom would come get me .

AT&T doesn't have a feature that lets you turn off features on her phone like Verizon does? You can basically make it so all they can do is make phone calls. Verizon calls it FamilyBase, not sure if AT&T has something similar
