4th Annual

Sept 17th & 18th

This is a great weekend of softball and fun, just like playing pick-up ball as a kid. This is a blind draw tourney. You sign up, we draw the teams.

2011 will be Co-Ed. Open to any softball player, any age, any skill level.

Visit www.EdAdamsChallenge.com for more info and registration.

16 spots already taken.

New perk for 2011: a massge therapist will be at the field for a few hours each day.

correct, but with 4 to 5 teams there would be some players on the same team.

You sign up as an individual player and get "drafted" onto a team to play with for the entire weekend. It can be competitive, but is more about having fun playing ball and making new friends. Sometimes it is purely luck of the draw how your team does over the weekend. I have made friends from Ohio, Indiana and Florida and this is not a new concept. There are big draft style tourneys in Florida, Arizona and Cincinnati. There is also one in Cleveland in October that is growing every year. We have players from REC to B signed up this year. I have never heard a bad word about the weekend (of course there may be someone that does not like it).

UPDATE: Due to popular demand and a growing waiting list, registration has been opened for more players and we will be moving the weekend to Friendship Park.

Renton field has been a comfortable cozy home the last four years. But if this weekend continues to grow, we must move to a park with more than one field.

www.EdAdamsChallenge.com website will be updated this evening with more info. Emails and text messages will be sent as we get closer to the weekend.

Less than one week til the annual weekend of fun. I look forward to meeting new players and making new friends. Friday will be the annual draft party at Steel City Steakhouse. See their website, www.SteelCitySteakhouse.com for address information. We will be starting at 8pm and there will be bar and food specials for our group.

This has been an exciting year for us. We have more registrations than previous years. There is still room for a few more players, registration is being extended to Thursday, Sept. 15th, so tell your friends.

The weekend has been moved to another field, yet again. Extended rain and poor field conditions have forced us to move to our second backup plan, Universal Park. Please check the website, www.EdAdamsChallenge.com, for directions and address information. The draw back to this field is lack of good seating and poor parking (local players are encouraged to carpool). It is suggested to bring chairs, blankets and canopies. There is a also a nice playground for the children.

As of right now games will begin at 8:30 Saturday and Sunday morning. If anything changes, I will keep you notified.

Moving from Renton field has given us an extra field and now lights, allowing us to host a Hometown vs Out-of-town game. This is completely voluntary and will be played Saturday evening.

There will be a full schedule and set of rules for games and skills competitions available at the fields and draft party Friday night.

This is a charity fund raiser (announcement will be made during the Sunday awards break), please be considerate and do not bring coolers or food. Full concessions will be available (burgers, dogs, pulled pork sandwiches, gatorade, water, etc) As usual, we will also have the bracelets for all you can drink beer specials.

I am looking for volunteers to help with setup, line the field, lay the bases and cleanup. Setup will begin at 7:30AM. No obligation, but if you would like to help, simply show up.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to call or email. Check the EdAdamsChallenge.com website for field and weekend information updates.
