Should I get a lighter bat?

I've been playing for about 3 years and I've always been a placement hitter. I'm trying to figure out how to get some more power. Right now all my bats are 27 oz but I'm looking to get a new one. Would dropping down to a 26 possibly help with increasing my bat speed?

take a video of your swing, these guys will guide you to a right direction. normally, you would think the opposite if you are looking for more power and distance, but many said they do just fine with 26oz. so, who knows.

Only one way to find out. You will probably increase bat speed, but that won't necessarily result in more power. Still worth a shot

If you aren't getting it done with a 27 oz bat, a 26 oz bat isn't suddenly going to yield another 30'.

If you want to hit further you'll have to examine your mechanics and make improvements. Dropping an ounce won't do the trick.
