ASA Swing and a miss.

So last night batter swings misses on his follow through he hits the ball in play. I argued it was a dead ball strike. Others argued live ball. Ump gave first base to the batter, what is the ruling on this?

Damn, talk about swinging WAY early.

You only get one attempt to swing at the ball. Hitting the ball on the followthrough is not legal. Dead ball, strike.

And in slow pitch with stealing, this could be interference.
