Vinci for Pitching...

Nat X

Dios mio, man.
I have decided to get a Vinci. I now pitch primarily and have been using a 13.5 Rawlings GG trapeze that I had from when I played OF. It has been a solid glove, but I want to upgrade. I don't want to get anything bigger then this glove(It is almost too big), but i don't want to go smaller then a true 13".

I have been looking at the TJ1952, PJV416 and the PJV1972(CP2-13.25). I don't want to get anything more then the 5oz kip. Out of the two 13.5 gloves which one is smaller? Do any of the reps have the 416 in stock?

Has anyone had the Rawlings and one of the gloves listed above and can compare sizes?

What are some of you other pitchers using?

Thanks,
Nate

I use a PJV04-L when I pitch. It is the open back trap. Many think that it isn't a good glove for an infield position but I love it. The gloves you mention should be in stock...I think...

I like that one. It's the American style like I am using currently. Does it play shorter then 13" like the BMB?

The 416 is out of stock on the Vinci website.

Most will say that Vinci's play small in general. The pockets get nice and deep and kind of make up for it. I have never felt that it was too small...however, I would instantly by a pjv04-l in a 14" B&B mesh if they were to make it. I love the open back American trap and would welcome an extra inch (who wouldn't:eek:). The mesh saves a at least 2 ounces and definitely feels lighter...IMO

There are a few Vinci reps on this board and I would be willing to bet that they can get what you are looking for.

Yeah I would get the mesh if it came in a bigger size. I wonder if it isn't strong enough for a larger glove. I'm leaning towards the 416 if available and plays a little smaller then the TJ. Most of the reviews claim the TJ is pretty big(But positive reviews). I want a glove that is big without being ***bersome. I mean sometimes it has to be as much of a shield as it does a glove when you are pitching, but it still needs to be easily maneuverable. That is why I am choosing Vinci. All the rave for balance points and a quality larger softball specific glove.

I think this is a great glove and have used it everywhere. I do like smaller gloves for IF so I might get the 12.75" version PJV0416-L. I also love the RV1923 12.5" H web but it is steer hide not kip.

I pitch and use a RV 1961-L its a 12.75 and frankly feels as big as my old 13.25 trap glove. I say feels, because obviously its not as big. Its an open back H web, because of the size and balance point of the glove its been really easy to move the glove around quickly to catch line drives and protect myself. LOL

You can't got wrong with a TJ. I personally use a BMB-M when I pitch because I like a little smaller glove for the infield.

I ended up getting the trap, thanks to escort ;). Can't wait for it to get here. I like smaller gloves in the IF as well, but as a pitcher I'd rather sacrifice a couple seconds trying to turn two for an extra inch of glove.

As a middle infielder I'd rather have the extra couple of seconds with a runner barreling down on me....:D
