    Senior bats vs USSSA bats

I just moved to senior ball turning 50 this year and own the last two 41's, the black and white. I also own several recently purchased senior models. I think it's a LOT more than 10-15 feet in my experience and would agree that exit speeds are much higher. If you want a senior bat that pretty...

Shaved Bats a thing of the past

Since my name was brought up and since it's been inferred I'm doing something illegal....the bat Steve saw me swing was a Synergy 98 (SP12SY98)....it's webbed up like no bat I've owned and it stopped passing compression successfully in 2013. I stopped using it in tournaments at that time and...

    Classification Question

The sitting out part is Article III Section 5-A- says if you are bumped and sit out a year, you stay at that level until you participate again. I would interpret the same as Bob is for a player who has consistently played a higher classification but then has sat out a year. The four player...

    USSSA legal pitch??

Kind of covered ad nauseum but I just peeked at the thread. As background, my State UIC the last 11 years, Bill Harper, is a National Assistant UIC and we do it by the book. First thing that applies here is 9-1-A-B. Four things have to happen for a legally pitched ball to occur. The...

    ASA Obstruction By the Umpire?

He didn't get hit by the throw but rather the runner...doesn't change the fact that he enforced a non-call

    Sp13s2 ?

Correct, the S2 is the ASA 98 replacement and the B2 is the USSSA 100 replacement.

    Sp13s2 ?

I'm just short of 200 swings on both my S2 and B2. The S2 tested around 320 new and the B2 at 300. They're now 300 and 280 roughly respectively. I'm still swinging a 98 and have documented the numbers on that bat since new. The S2 doesn't really feel like the 98 did out of the wrapper but...

Someone help me out here, approved bat list and new stamp

We covered this at the convention actually. The new stamp supercedes the bat list but with leagues being permitted to grandfather for 2013 the list still has relevance for those leagues that choose to go with the grandfathering rule. Terry...none of us have a choice on the tournament front.

    New Rule Changes

I can confirm all of the following as I was there either voting or at the time of the announcement. B to 6 dingers C to 4 dingers C/D NIT's will now feature 4/2/0 HR's depending on who's playing- C plays C= 4, C plays D= 2 and D plays D= 0 The run rule is now 20/15/10 in men's D and E...

Utrip d ball switches to offensive ejection!!!!

USSSA auto-bumps the top 10% at D and E Worlds and the by-laws are pretty clear about how many guys from those teams can play together and stay down the next year. The problem for us as it is with all associations is that some directors don't then follow the letter of the law.

Utrip d ball switches to offensive ejection!!!!

We've already received the delegates voting packet for 2013. A change to 6 in B and 4 in C has been passed and we'll be voting on it in Temecula. I'd expect with it having already passed the Board of Directors that it will pass on the floor by acclamation. There were no proposed changes for D...

    USSSA batters box

I know it wasn't the original question but if I read that right.....I'm not sure that's correct Bret. Sitting with our National UIC and a couple of ASS'T UIC's now checking in teams. The way they interpret and thus instruct it.....(for USSSA) any portion of both feet touching any portion of...

    Frozen??

Ya I asked the board about that a few years ago and while I agree your interpretation is correct, the board said they were fine with a player playing up in subsequent world tourneys. You know it's all about bodies in beds in Orlando right? Lol

    Frozen??

    This is legal yes

    Requirement

Short answer is that it's up to your State Director to decide that. Article VI, Sec 9 says you have to play in your State Tournament if it's held but that a State Director can consider it optional if they so decide. You can also be exempted from playing from an appropriate Exec. VP or VP...

    Home team up, killing clock

So I'm guessing none of you 'swing the bat' gurus calling the OP names have ever had a guy step on the plate or run off the base when you were home and trailing to get another inning in?
  17. T

    Frozen??

The reason there's so much disinformation here pompetti is that too many local directors aren't following the by-laws chapter and verse. Heck, even a chapter and verse guy like me found a 'do no harm' way to help my players play more often locally without effecting anything in the big tourneys...

    Frozen??

No argument there....but that's a completely different argument. I don't have directors that can make that decision here so I guess I'm immune. I allow frozen guys to play for other teams here in qualifiers and in limited numbers as well, but I make the team ineligible to receive points...

    dudley sy

I'm not talking about the covers pitting, the SY's do that as well...the reason I use Baden here. I'm talking about the ball getting 'soft'. I don't use the ZN here except for the Major because it's beyond our price point and I don't know if they offer it as a leather or composite cover now...

    Frozen??

You're not eligible to play with any other USSSA team at any level until completion of championship play for your team. In this case it would be E Worlds. If your team drops you, you would not be eligible to return to your team this season until after Worlds. No real grey area here, while...
