? about top of the line gloves

It's been a long time since I've bought a new glove. I'm still using my A2000 from my senior year of high school. (I'm 28 now) I mostly play OF but with my new tourney team I will be playing some third too. (fav. position but speed kills) With that said, what are the differences with the top of the line gloves, such as the nokona bloodline, Mizuno pro limited, a2k etc. Is it worth the Money? Whats a good size and web? Thanks guys.

Right now I'm leaning towards nokona bl 1175h

I'm not much of a glove expert just yet, but I definitely think it is worth the money to get one of the better gloves. With that being said, it's hard to say which brand to go with because everyone is a little different. If you like the A2000, I would probably stick with that if I were you. I personally like the Mizuno and Akadema (obviously) lines better than Wilson, Rawlings, and Nokona. Also, I would think 11.75" is awful small to play OF with, for 3rd it would be fine. I use an 11.75 and play mostly SS, 2nd, some 3rd. For OF/3rd utility glove I would lean more towards a 12.5 (at least 12" depending on the brand-some run bigger than others); but if you like a smaller glove and are using one in the OF now with success I guess it works for you! And for the web, again it's all preference, but if your playing IF with it as well I would stay away from the traps and probably go with an H web, maybe a mod trap. Just my 2 pennys.

Thanks for the info. The glove would be strictly for IF. I will keep my a2000 12.5 for OF.

That being said 11.75 or 12" is plenty big. Me personally I've tried lots of gloves and lots of sizes. I'm all Rawlings, but really haven't ventured far away from them either. That 11.75 bloodline H web is a pretty sweet glove once broken in. My buddy gamed one for a bit. Webmouth is sellin a pro1000h right now for $200 I'd recommend. Great deal IMO. Good luck on your search, and just like others have said u might just end up tryin a few before u find a perfect match

Process of elimination my man. Everyone has their favorites...as someone who has tried pretty much anything you can name, I settled on Rawlings Pro Preferred. My main sticking points?...#1 Pattern (I love the 504 and 303 patterns) #2 Comfort (Pittards lining is amazing) #3 Weight (Not a fan of very heavy gloves, Pro Preferred's are nice and light relative to the size).

Now someone else could say the same thing about Mizuno Pro Limited or Wilson A2K, etc. The best thing you can do is just try some out, it's always fun to see something new coming in the mail lol.

If you can find a store and can check out some Nokonas it would help you out. The Nokona 1175 pattern is actually longer than the 1200, but the 1200 is deeper. They redesigned the 1175 for this year, and the new version (traditional open back) seems deeper than the old one with the modified open back (but that was from memory, I could not do a side by side with them). In any case, the new 1175 in bloodline is REALLY nice.

No ****ing kidding. I almost pulled the trigger one 3 gloves this week and thought better of it.

And to the OP what everyone else has said is on point. Everyone has their own preference as to size, pattern, color, brand, and anything else to do with a glove. It is all about trying them out and finding what works for you. I do however agree that if you know for a fact you like your A2000 that it may be a good idea to go with another A2000 to start. Though I am extremely confident you would not be disappointed in going with a pro preffered or heart of the hide from rawlings.

Each glove manufacturer is different in what they offer, patterns they have, materials they use. What I will say is yes, a high end glove is definitely worth the price. Some are better values than others, but it's all a personal preference.

Very true statement...pattern is #1 for me.
