I've been told during games that I keep dropping my back shoulder. Well I have noticed it cause times I hit pop ups more often then grounders. What can I do to correct this??? Useful information would be helpful.

keep your eye on the ball.
try to cut it in half.
try starting with your back shoulder up a little.

Start with your hands up by your head/ear. This should help

I have heard the exact opposite. Start with your hands lower.

What I find I do when I pop up is:

  1. I start my swing too early.
  2. Bring the bat up.
  3. Over stride my step.
  4. Drop the bat head down through the zone.

What I started doing:

  • Waiting for the ball to get to me.
  • Start with hands lower.
  • Step is more compact.
  • Force the bat head to be up.

I started with a tee, swing trainer stick that I made and whiffle golf balls. Started with slow motion swings and I felt a lot of unnatural movement. Then I began to try and eliminate those unnatural movements 1 by 1. I started picking up the tempo of my swing and I started to make better contact.

Then, I switched to softball bat, softball on tee, did the same as above. After I got the hang of that, I went to bp and real pitching.

Just line your hands with your back shoulder and drive straight to the ball... no need for a hitch. Makes you drive your hands quicker to the zone.... basically why Curtis Granderson is rocking the ball right now.

Just judging by what you wrote here I can guess that your timing is way off... I bet that you are way out in front of the ball... The Dipping could be caused by you starting your swing early, the dip is your way of "holding back" your swing.....

If this is the case then I would work on waiting longer for the ball... and don't swing hard to kill it...

pin your chin to your front shoulder...by keeping your head down to your shoulder, not bringing the shoulder to your chin of course...Should help keep your front shoulder lower than the back

Dr. bats are for wimps
Concentrate on your back shoulder, really try to push it thru the hitting zone rather than using your front shoulder to pull it thru.

two tee drill would be good. forces you to swing slightly down on the ball which should eliminate the shoulder drop and resulting weak uppercut swing.
