i think it's the endload/feel.

hitting off a tee, my juggy has more distance than my teammates rd28. didn't even need to measure it either, it was consistent and repeatable.

my hunch is that the endload is giving most ppl the extra distance. if not that, they like the feel, thus they swing it better and get more distance.

hitting it back to back with a creature, i found both impressively hot out of the wrapper, but neither is going to bump my juggy from the line-up anytime soon. while the juggy continues to get hotter (and is already better), the creature has pretty much leveled off after a 100 or so hits, and the RD28, well i've heard it gets hotter, but i haven't seen it happen yet.

Because for one thing, the RD28 is PRE-ABI... Same as the Phenix and the CF3. So its not a POST-ABI bat. The RD28 is a model year 2009 but was released in 2008. Such as the way every manufacturer does it. Not to discredit the OG Flex or EXT but the RD has so much more technology packed into it so for it to surpass earlier model bats isn't out of the range of possibility. But the RD28 is PRE-ABI.........

1. Your wrong. Now go back to noobville and sit in the dunce chair.

B. Who said it passed? The Toxic didn't pass and the outcome....? Don't make anymore. So Demarini didn't have anymore made! (my theory at least)

3. ABI 3 is a rolling process, my RD didn't break in fully till around 800 hits

so.... good logic..... but I see some flaws.
Based on this argument the following 2009 bats are all PRE-ABI correct?
SCL1, SRV2, SRV1, SSR1
Morphed
09 Titan
Nemesis
Triton
Frenzy2.....
2008 model year = PRE-ABI
2009 model year = Post-ABI

From what I understand it depended on how far along production was on a certain bat before it was released. If the production run was completed it was grandfathered where if it was just beginning or had not begun it had to comply.

what the hell are you talking about?!

They didn't make any more because it was a limited edition bat to comemmerate and remember/honor Ray demarini.
They stopped making the toxic because they tested too hot.

Totally wrong. It's Post ABI. And yes, we got confirmation through Demarini that it is Post ABI.

It's not the performance of the bat, it's how you fit the profile of the bat.

just curious who confirmed this with you from Demarini?

Let's see, half the board members on here would agree to that. The product manager from Demarini, ASA. Just to name a few.

second. i had a 26oz last year, but once i traded for the 28oz this year it's gonna take a lot to make me switch. i've tried some great bats, but the juggy matches them all, but just feels better to me. the only bat i've tried that i liked the feel better was the CDN OTC.

i still think the RD28 is a good bat. i think i'd get a little more out of a 27oz as well, i just don't agree with the prices. no way i could justify paying double for one compared to equally performing bats. in some ways, i might even pick something like the creature OVER it, depending on how good you are at hitting the sweet spot. i know my rec team hits way better with the creature than they do my juggy

Well iv had 13 og extendeds at one time and 7 og flexs, and after about 700-800 hits both bats were insanely hot and durable but it seemed that 6 months after i got them game ready they broke. Now to me the rd heats up after 200 swings and you get to enjoy them that much faster, and im still on 1st 28oz with spiderwebbs and about 600 hits on it. I'm hitting hr's just as far with my rd as i did with my old eastons. Since then i've sold off all my eastons and only swing demars.
4 28oz ASA rd"s
1 27oz ASA rd
1 28oz juggy
1 26oz CF3
1 27oz j2120:D:D

per the ASA companies could only send out post-ABI bats after the cut off date (june 2008???) as warranty returns. Demarini was sending out the RD28 as a warranty return bat correct? Or does this logic not stand up?

rd28 is post abi it may be hotter due to the limited numbers made but I highly doubt it. It either fits your swing and you hit the snot out of the ball with it or it deesnt.

Well, hack me off at the knees and call me shorty, I never knew Demarini had a ASA Division and a USSSA Division. To boot, two seperate managers as welll. Damn, they must really be expanding at a expotential rate.:p

Sorry, I just could not help myself on this post. Just to darn funny.

JUST FNG CALL DEMARINI it is POOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSTTTTTTT ABI

It hits so faaaar and is sooo hot because it is limited production and looks like a gaey dudes tat! Softball players are a lot like golfers, the newest rarest stick is the fix they have been looking for or it seems to them at least.

I wouldnt take 3 rd28's NIW for one SCN3 !

I sense some serious anger issues here and maybe even some signs of homophobia...come on man it's 2010, not 1983

The RD is post ABI, it came out the beginning of 2009. As for the bat passing the tests, I have heard 2 stories/ rumors............. first is the bats passed the test and the other is the bats was just over the ABI limit and they let it go (passed it) because it was a limited run of 3000 bats and they required DeMarini to number them 1-3000. I know one person on this board knows the exacts of how the testing went down, but I don't know if he will post the results on this board. He prob won't, I wouldn't if I was him. Take it to the grave with him.

I sold my log/SCN3 to get my RD. My RD hits them farther and deeper than ANYTHING my SCN3 ever did and I used the SCN3 for three seasons. I've used the RD for half of a season so far. RD> SCN3

More than likely
I have an og ext that I cant get to pass the utrip tester, tried five times on three different test setups....I think if you design correctly, or get lucky, once they break in fully its bombs away. Remember the OG Ext u couldnt give away 4 years ago.

pre ABI a LOT of bat would break in to the point they wouldn't pass the testing. that was the whole reason for the new ABI testing.

the theory is that the new bats won't ever exceed the 98mph limit, pre-ABI if you could somehow make a bat that started at 98mph and broke in to be ultra hot, it still would have passed.

i think there's a lot of a mental game going on with these hyped up bats. i don't think many would say they are bad bats, but i haven't seen anything to justify the prices yet.

i tried starting the rumour before, i might as well give it another go.
what if the foam inside demarini's bats is the secret. a lot of ppl claim their bats get extra hot once the foam breaks loose, some even remove it to allow the walls to flex more. the theory is the foam is there to limit the flexing, and thus limit the performance. rolling the bat(or whatever they do for the ABI testing) probably doesn't break the foam loose.

to sum that up, my juggy got the foam rattle and i noticed nothing change in performance, so i'm just talking smack, but it seems appropriate in threads like this

I've actually hit a juggy with no foam and man oh man was it hot, and loud like a shotgun. But i have to admit i've never hit a broken in juggy so i cant say if it would be the same. But my ASA RD is head and shoulders above my 28oz juggy, but my juggs only has like 100 hits on it. The foam could be the limiting factor though cause i heard the new utrip deamars have no foam, and neither does the geezer.
