I need some help/info on a glove for the mound.

Alright guys I traded my BR44 and I REALLY loved that glove but it was just too heavy for the mound. I'd like to get another Vinci for the mound. Here is a list of things that I'm looking for in a Vinci for the mound.

1. Good Palm Pad
2. Light weight
3. Decent price.
4. Nothing larger than 13"

I have no preference on whether it being an OB or CB, H web or trap.

I have owned the following:

BR45S
BR45
BMB
PJV55
BR44

What do you guys recommend?

Biggest to smallest:
BMB
AB74, same as BMB with mod trap web instead, I prefer to the H
RV1961
PC2443, best leather, will absorb the most impact, measures 12.25", will break in to 12.5"

Thanks brother, how is the weight of the PC2443?

The PC2443 is a bit on the heavy side but I had 2 line shots hit at me yesterday and never felt a thing. I'll sacrifice a little weight for the added protection.

If you could pic another Vinci regardless of the weight and not the PC2443, what would it be?

They are built of the same heavier leather but it is a smaller glove, some of that will help with weight reduction but I think it mostly helps with reducing the perceived weight, less glove hanging off the fingers makes it feel lighter if that makes any sense. I loved mine for pitching and it was very responsive for middle shots, never a bobble or miss on anything I got leather on, just swallowed the ball. Now I'm going to try the BR44 so I can use it for OF too instead of having 3 gloves, may be a mistake and I'll come back to the PC2443 but I hope not.

I understand what you are saying about the overall short length of the PC2443. You will like the BR44, let me know your findings on the weight and how it feels to you.

At the time I was considering the BR44 and the WV32. I went with the PC2443 over the BR44 because I usually play second and wanted a slightly shorter glove. I would probably go with the BR or the WV or possibly try out something in the Optimus line. My son absconded with my JV26-M in the 5oz leather and while it's a really nice glove I just have a thing for the thicker stiffer leather. To each his own....

I've used an MV3, MV30, JV25, MEO24-M, CT82-M, PJV16, TJ1952 Optimus and TJ1952-L. I currently use the MV30 on the mound. Its heavier but balanced well.

Lot's of good info here, if one had to pic a Vinci that is the lightest and have the best palm pad out of the choices listed above, what would you guys choose?

If I wasn't doing the pc2443 amd could pick anything strictly for pitching it would be an ab74 in a combo of black and tobacco optimus leather.

Anyone have any info/insight on the EI1918-22? I like the looks of it, I'm currently using a Wilson A2000 XLC which looks identical to it but the XLC does not have any palm padding and is a 12.5'. I really like the looks of it and like the HUGE pocket.

I really hate when I create a thread and it gets hijacked by a spam bot! Ban Hammer is on the way!

I've used BMB OB mesh on the mount it weight 23.4 oz this year I picked up a
TJ OB mesh and love it. It weighs 24 oz even and I can't notice a difference on my hand between it and the BMB. But I sure do like the added length.

I pitched with a BMB for a couple seasons and it was a great pitching glove. The mesh closed back was 23 oz and the leather OB was 21.5 oz.

I couldn't take it any longer, I ended up buying back my old BR44! Things are well now.

Too late but I would go with the RV1961/AB1974. Great for IF/Pitch and works well in OF. Plus dual welted, good stability, light and agile. But the BR44 is a tank so.......
