Is the game actually ruined?

Whatever happened to the good old day company picnic softball game? Guys blew up Harold from accounting with a shaver. Later laughed about it over weiners and potato salad.

just look at all the bats that are for sale that say "only 50 swings and is not to my liking, or don't have the time to break in the bat" people buy and sell bats based on if but will make them a HR hitter or not right outa the wrapper, and when the bat fails comp tests or breaks after a few hundred swing they bash it for its lack of durability.... that right there is an indicator that people don't wanna spend the time to be a good player they wanna buy a good game, i been playing for 20yrs and if you put in the time you can be as good as you wanna be and move up to the highest levels if you have the talent.. yes that GAME IS RUINED... for a long time now

I still think attitude is the most important change needed...

But, in the mean time - I think equipment restrictions could help...

Bottom Level - Wood Bats and 52/375
BL+1 Level - Single-wall and 52/375
BL+2 Level - Any bat and 52/375
BL+3 Level - Any bat and 40/400

If you want to play with better equipment - Move up
If you want to just have fun - stop complaining about the equipment
