Slap Hands!
If anyone is looking for somewhere to go between games in Hanover, shoot me a message or find me there (#18 on the Horsemen). I can give you directions to a few bars or restaurants. There are a lot of places in Albertville, and a couple in St. Michael.

River inn ftw. Not that mainstreet farmer would be a good spot with softball gear it's food is awesome.

I've never been to Main Street, but I'd like to give it a shot.

If you're just looking for bars or bar food, there are two bars in Hanover, four bars in St. Michael (for sure two with food) and four in Albertville. People in my area need a lot of bars, apparently.

For sure, usually 6's is the first tournament with a chance at good weather, but I know 2 years ago it was like 20 degree windshield and wasn't last year very rainy? We like to travel a little south for our first tournament and use it as a tune up for corkys.

6's was miserable last year. I don't think it got above 40 degrees and had super high winds.

That can't possibly be all the bars in those places. I know WI is a little over the top when it comes to drinking establishments, but in the town of Siren with less than 1000, we've got 5 bars that would be happy to take your money, then have the local patrons look to fight you about whatever comments you want to make about the Packers vs. Vikings.

So if it's different bar atmosphere's you're looking for, venture across the border to Siren to play. All five are within 1/2 mile of each other and the hotels, and the ballpark is just another 1/2 mile away. And there's 2 casinos just 15 minutes away as well.

Yoke, people in your area don't need a lot of bars, and the ones who do, probably move to small town WI.

Let the non Drinking fat guy help you boys here for places to go

Hanover
River Inn- Just down the road from the fields a little bit in downtown hanover. If yyou blink you miss downtown hanover. Food is good
Chops- Directly across the fields from the bar, can get food, nothing special and booze
as you are leaving the field heading towards st michael

St Michael- 5 minutes down the road
Corner Bar, just booze, maybe frozen pizza
There is another little bar right next to the snap fitness, and state farm insurance agency. I cant think of the name, guessing booze and frozen pizzas. It is a popular Biker stop
Main Street Market- Looks a little more upscale for you fine dinners
Bowling Alley- Has drinks there, I dont know about food

Albertville- Another 5 minutes past Saint Michael on the same road
Willy Mccoys- Most of us have had their food its decent, its always 2 for 1 pricing, first one is $8
Just across from the Friendly city days field are the following bars, all serve food that is decent and booze. 152 Club, Neighbors Bar, and Geez
D Michael B's- Another Bar technically still in albertville, you have to go under the highway for this location. Food is better than the rest of the places, little more spendy. Like $15 a plate

Now if you leave the field and head towards st michael. There will be a stop light right away. If you take that left, you have about a 12 Minute drive to the city of buffalo. More options here

2 Golf courses in town both have bars, the little 9 hole course has bunkers resturant they have good food
Norms- Great pizza, probably best pizza around. This is what they are known for, but their pig wigs are pretty damn good as well
Thirsty Buffalo - Food is good, i really like their burgers
Mchayes- It is a little Irish bar that brews their own beer
Huikkos Bowling Alley- The resturant in the back serves food, full bar

If this isnt enough options I cant help

My favorite part is Danforth has his team top 5, said his team is going to be hard to beat. It looks pretty bad to pick your own team. Or the other guys that tell you to not sleep on team so n so, that they happen to play on:). Or they took top 5 in tier 3 firemans and a couple stadium one days. But it is something to read and take you mind off the great spring weather.

Everyone is optimistic in early April. It's a beautiful thing.

Some of those teams will split or hate each other by mid-July.

The Firemen's one is my favorite. Teams often don't realize that Tier 3 rarely has many competitive teams. Most of the top D teams are playing in Tier 2.

Average, at best
My favorite is when guys use Fall State as a next year jumping off point. "Top finishing D team at Fall State." Danforth did use that one year for his Electric Eels squad, who he said could beat any team if HRs were unlimited.

Tell that to reckless.. they were sup to walk through it last yr...

But I agree 80% of the teams were bad..

But we did beat a cpl good ones, cardinal bar wasn't bad , that yellow team that's talking about placing top 5.. a green team door service something, then can't remember if we beat malecha or a fargo team.. plus run ruled the team that beat reckless :) ..

Yea I wanted to Chime in about his Electric Eel's posts from the old North Star days.......as if they were some great mythological team that won allll of nothing........but yes the best D teams are not only playing in Tier 2, they are beating C teams in the firemens as well due to the 7 homers at dred and just playing good ball......Played in Mauston this past weekend near the dells, all turf baseball fields, pretty darn good complex, the weather sucked, 30 degrees, 40 mph winds, but got 5 games in....

Someone post the link to the Danforth writeup.

My favorite was his post he made a few years ago about winning corn and clover days.
