When they first started showing up, I thought the diy shelves were just "meh" but now that I've had one in my bag, I like that sturdiness it provides... Sure, I could build one but if I'm paying $100+, I'd like a good shelf option built in

i'd think the wide variety of sizes for a water bottle might be a factor in not putting one on.

Bat sleeves a little different on the new one. Back to two bats in a neoprene sleeve may be ideal for a water bottle hold on will post a pic. This is Merica version.
