SP14L3....wow

Bat Huer
Alright brethren. I had a small window to get some swings in this morning on my normal field so I took advantage of it. Conditions were ideal. So's here's my official review....

27oz 14L4, 300 total hits. Barrel was stiff up till 30-50ish swings. Webbing started immediately. Sweetspot opened up considerably over each round. Exit speed was impressive. Weighting feels the same to the 13L1 (Which is my only criticism). Distance was killer. Slightly behind my UTrip gamers (100H). If I were to sum it up, if you like an 13L1, this bat breaks in quicker and has a larger sweetspot.

Assuming you meant 14L3? Good to hear it feels just like the L1 which is a hell of a bat, IMO.

Im Gloving It

Next on hitlist.
Sorry. I should clarify. They've been in my truck since Spring. But they sit in there most of the summer. Don't let them freeze all winter.

Lol @ this....kinda foolish. It doesn't make them any less hard because theyre in there in the spring and summer. If its winter and you left them in there or a week, even if they sat in the truck all summer, theyre gonna be hard.

Corrected. Thanks man.

cold Utah morning weather + hard ass balls = durability issues?

Possibly. The weather was cool this morning, but none of our other bats showed any issues. Again, had most of my balls for about 2-3 years. Lots of mush. Wasn't hitting stadiums or launches.

Agreed. I'm not sure what people expect. Hit them with the balls they were intended to hit. Even in cool weather I've had no issues with the 2014 bats I've hit.

Intended? Are you implying that the L3 was built for 52/300? I haven't read that. I'm willing to go pick up a new bag of balls if so. I have 2 more L3s coming. I've only heard of the DeMars needing to hit a specific ball.

So if they sit in my truck, 15 degree weather vs 90? That won't effect the ball?

Went back out and put another 115 hits on this bat during bp. Bat is now up to around 430 hits with a mix of .52 and .44 balls. It was early morning and about 65 out side, bat has opened up considerably, every shot is a screamer. I had a double header at 11 and 1215, in this league they use Pro Nine .44 375 balls, I asked everyone if they would swing it atleast once per game, people who have been swinging their J3A put them down, and swung the L3. After the double header it tallied another 30 hits. So far this bat is the real deal. The only thing I've seen on the barrel is ball marks and 3 lines of webbing which were about an inch long and now about 4-5 inches long, it's very tough to see them; and absolutely no spirals.

So interesting. Maybe I'm giving Easton too much credit about being able to swing in 50 degree weather? Maybe my balls are too hard? Maybe I got a dud. How about in the white "E?" See any webbing there?

My buddy hit some Utrip balls with his 2013 L6 when it was about 45 degrees out. It went from just fine to spiraled and webbed all the way up and down on one swing (only on the one side though). Granted he hit the ball over 400 feet: but it does only take one swing to flex the barrel more than it was designed to flex. So I would say if you are a masher, you might want to stick to 52s until temperature get above 60.

I have more DBO than you!
I've been swing my L3 I would say 100-200 swings indoor with mixture of balls. Mine is webbed up and has the spiral in the green area. I have the one with no barcode. I will take some pics later tonight.

Madbeers, would you hit your L3 over your og flex hitting 44/375 balls? My flex just hit insane mode but you got me thinking of trading my flex for an L3 because you said your L3 was right behind your 100h gamer. My flex is still a good amount behind my 100h.

Let me hit them head to head and I'll comment. I still think the flex is king, but they are 2 different feels. 13 inch "balanced" barrel one piece vs a 2 piece, EL, 12 inch barrel (which is more my style).

After reading this thread you all talked me in to buying an L3. It def has some pop! I've had 2 100H's over the last couple years and this hangs right with them. Mine has around 200 swings, mostly BP all with 52/300 only. I've swung it in as low as 50 degree weather and not had any issues with spiraling or webbing. I just cannot get over the heavier end load for a 27oz bat (2oz EL). I like to hit to all fields and wish this had a more balanced feel. I will be selling my 27 in search of a 26.

Went out and was only able to put about 50hits on it before the game. Let's just say this bat has hit silliness level!

How much endload does the L3 have similar to the 100h or less or more? Anymore have a scale weight on a 27 or 28 L3 ?

I will be hitting my b3, b4 and L4 today. Finally hit high 50s low 60s in Wisconsin

How'd it go hitting all those? I had a chance to swing the L4 and the B4 at a ASA manufacture Tournament this Saturday. I didn't get to swing the L3, but the L4 felt really good. The B4 felt better, the ball was jumping off of the B4 and everyone was swinging either the B4 or the 2014 Z-2000 on each field. I don't know if it was because the B4 had more swings and was broken in, and the L4 looked new and unused on the 2 fields that had it, but the B4 has me itching to buy one even though I was set on either a L3 or L4.
