Everyone has different opinions on this but if its the ASA recoil i would use that thing in a snow storm.....the utrip one i would not hit too much below 55-60, but like i said, thats my opinions....

Don't go below 45*. Thats my opinion. No BP below 60*. 45* is for games, just rotate it every at bat

If its the original usssa recoil not one of the newer ones.. A teammate of mine swings his year round.. From 10-95 degrees and has to have at least 2000 hits. Its a tank

Hit my Recoils down into the 30s; still going strong.


Didn't get to hit my USSSA Recoil in cold weather, though, so couldn't comment on that.

Couple of people are saying the RI's seem to be a little brittle, but good rule of thumb is about 60* IMO

I consider 50-55 to be the lowest for me, depending on the compression (and temperature) of the balls.

I've hit my DC psycho in games when it's in the 40's. No problems at all. Now, I don't think I'd bp with it at those temps though.
