Make lounge posts "count" and retroactively tally all old uncounted Lounge posts and add them to the user's post total. Makes no sense that they're not recorded.
Provide a running tally of "reported" posts/make reports public. This is America and we have a Constitutional right to know the identity of our accuser and what we're being accused of.
Right now I'm running with scripts disabled because of how crappy the old site was with pop ups and ads. If you guys have solved that, great job. I hope that was one of the fixes with the current new look. Those pop ups got out of hand.
The "disable profanity filter" feature doesn't actually work or do anything. The old site also had this option and it also did nothing. Why include it if its permanently disabled?
The Lounge 200 posts/1 year rule is no longer necessary in my opinion. Let new members post and see posts.
Create a HOF for most liked posts/threads, and archive them forever, so we can go back and review the best/funniest/most memorable threads.
Don't lock threads in the Lounge at 3k posts. No need to have 20 Call of Duty threads and 20 BBQ threads, etc. If a thread is still active at 3001, let it keep going. Old threads die on their own. Locking old stuff to prevent "zombie bumps" is fine and a good policy, but locking the top thread on a page? Perhaps there is some reason for this that I don't fully understand, if so, please share.
Let the Lounge be the Lounge. Stuff like canceling the DBOTY poll and issuing warnings for talking about why people were banned are some low lights. Understand that the SBF off topic section has become a gathering point for people and will always have off color humor, ridicule and shame, NSFW imagery (not porn), etc. Rather than make the standard of behavior the thinnest skinned, most easily offended puritan on the site, set an objective standard and let people decide for themselves if they want to post there or not. It is decidedly less raunchy and cliquish than it has been in the past. This is a good thing. SBF has done a good job of not being the post police of late, they should keep it up, but allow new people to post if they choose to. Let it breathe a little, like some stinky drawers.
