Little Disappointed With My First Vinci

I bought a 13in BMB in red last year and now I have had to stop using the glove. I normally play SS, 3rd, and pitch. First the glove has become completely floppy, besides the pinky and the thumb of course. On hard shots were I have to move the glove quickly, the ball flies right out the top of the glove. I know sometimes its cause I mess up but most of the time its because how floppy the glove has gotten. My 12in PM glove holds balls in the pocket better than my Vinci.
Second the glove has become extremely heavy! I have never left it out in the rain so I have no clue what is going on besides maybe my hand sweat and soaked the glove.
Third I didnt realize how loose this glove was going to be on my hand with out any type of way of tighting it down on the wrist.
Idk just thought I let everyone know my experience with my first Vinci. I do love how deep the pocket is though!

I don't know that seems weird to me I myself have never had a BMB but this doesn't seem normal. I've had 1 of my PJV's for over a year and the glove hasn't gone floppy at all. As far as it gaining weight, how many times have you conditioned it? I'd hit up escort on here and see what he says.

I will have to take pictures but I bought the glove new and conditioned it twice with the Vinci conditioner

Too many things are not maling sense here, especially with what I know of the BMB pattern. There is no way that pattern size should become floppy or heavy unless it was exposed to some unusual conditions. Leaving the glove in the trunk of your car in hot, humid conditions repeatedly might cause what you're experiencing. So might your body chemistry. If you sweat profusely & it has a high acidic content, it might also cause problems. It wouldn't surprise me if there is some combination of the two going on.

The first thing I'd suggest is a good drying out & a relacing.

Did you get a BMB-L (Kip) or a BMBS-22 (Steerhide)?

In my experience, other brands of steerhide gloves tend to get floppy quick and feel heavier, especially once you add conditioner, or get them wet.

Not sure about Vinci's steerhide though.

Hum it in there
My TJ is 3 years old and finally feels perfectly broken in. I plan on using it for another 10 years. No way yours should be floppy...

He said it was red so its got to be a BMB-L.

Personally, I've found that the red & the blue Limiteds are stiffer than the other colors. I'm somewhat baffled by the claims of floppiness unless the Op is not being honest about his treatment of the glove. Kip leather is just not going to become, "extremely heavy", on its own.

I don't know about anybody else but I want to see pics of this glove..........

My first thought was oil type conditioner.

Same thing happened to my BMB. I sent it in to Dirty to relace it and condition it and when it returned it was great. Well that only lasted a few months and then it was floopy again. Had smarkley retighten it for me and it was on its path to becoming floopy all over again so I sold it. I had other vinci's as back ups and sold them all. My bad experience isn't everyone's, I know that. What the OP is going through was my exact experience.
BTW I had the blue BMB

I haven't had time to put pictures up but no everything I have said is true. I'm very picky on what I do with my softball equipment. If it starts raining I switch gloves and my bag is waterproof so the glove isn't getting wet. I conditioned the glove twice with the Vinci conditioner and that is all. I have tightened the laces up and still is floppy.

EOlie, I think you need to think about what your saying. Once you had the glove relaced the new lace is gonna stretch. Also lace needs tightened regularly, not just when the glove gets floppy.

first time i have seen a complaint of a vinci breaking in too far, most of the ones i see are the glove is perfect or is taking too long to break in

First off, I apologize you are unhappy with you BMB-L. A few questions for the OP.

What position do you play?
How many games do you have on it?
How is the glove broken in? How is your 12" PM broken in?

Also, tightening the spiraled heel lace with tighten the wrist area.

Thats another reason why vinci is the best! The 1st floppy complaint i have read in my daughters and i short vinci glove having career and almost the entire rep chain of command comes out to help.Followed by an unwarranted apology.

The best in the biz!!!!!!!!

Makes me want to buy another fastpitch glove cause this support system is making me feel inVINCIble!!!!!

I have a hard time believe either one of you two had a BMB get floppy if you didn't ruin the glove in an unnatural way.

I probably have over 500 games on it. Not 100% sure though.
The vinci's pocket is deep but is completly flat, the inside fingers are soft, and when you squeeze the ball with the glove the ball can still come fly out. The PM has a deep pocket but is still open when laid down and everything is still tight and stiff.
I have tightened the heel laces and i also overlapped the little slit on the lace and sewed it shut.

I've killed my bmbl. 500+ games. Left it in the rain, never conditioned it, stretched a lace to the point of breaking it. Had escort relace it and it's still my gamer :)

What about my question about batting gloves under the gloves? I have seen the same problems with a local bro that does not wear a glove. The sweat can make a glove heavy and break down the lining of a glove. Also do you keep a ball in it when you store it? It does not look abused like TDsesesss glove but I suspect that moisture may be the issue.

Broken in all wrong...that glove should close to the last finger, not even sure how it closed to that one...also, it looks like it was run over by a mack truck...it should not lay flat when not in use...user error in my opinion

which finger the thumb should close to is a matter of preference. I do agree that it looks like the OP used a rolling method for bats to break his glove in. It looks like he continually ran it over with his car until until he could get it to lay flat. Besides that, it appears the OP never took the time to break in the pocket properly.
