Nice turn out, enjoyed it today. Hopefully we can get a few more good weekends before the season starts.

Anyone hitting in the Raleigh area this weekend? I will be in town for my girlfriends sorority event at NCSU but will be free most Saturday afternoon.

RTP Area?

Can anybody hit during the day during the week in the RTP / Durham area? I work near 54 & 55 and wouldnt mind hitting during the lunch hour when the weather allows.

I'm usually free during the day. But there aren't many fields close to that area. Parkwood is locked up, and it's too short anyhow. The RTP fields are open, and one pair is 285. If you hit on field #3 a lot of the balls will hit the net, and not get lost!

Kahuna,

Field #3, the one with the net, is the one that I had in mind. Im about 5 mins from that field. Its supposed to be pretty nice tomorrow if you can make it.

Im just tired of it being nice during the week and then raining heavily on Friday and washing the fields out for the weekend

Temps look to be a little low for Wednesday. I've got a dentist appointment out in RTP at 11. It may be a last minute decision for me....but I doubt it's gonna be warm enough to swing composites. Forecast is for it to be around 45* around noon.

Warm enough? Swing them Easton's you will be fine. I swing Miken's in the 40's at BP, but my BP ball's and bats are kept indoors during the winter.

Well I brought my stuff with me today, so if anybody is still wanting to hit around lunchtime at field #3 in RTP let me know.

March 3-4 Triangle Opener (Walnut Creek): 5GG ($325 Entry Fee). Every team will receive a free bat with registration along with the winners receiving "Freedom Tournament Prize Money" to spend at the end of the tournament.

What is "Freedom Tournament Prize Money" you ask?????

This is a new program I am starting this year, several tournaments this year I will give away Prize Money (Similar to Cash) that you must spend at the end of the tournament. Your team will be able to pick their prizes (any prize they want with the money they have). Every Prize will have a dollar value, you are able to buy those prizes with the money you win. We will have everything available from: Bats, Back Packs, Roller Bags, Batting Gloves, Hats, Beanies, Sweatshirts, T-Shirts, Uniforms, Turfs, Paid Hotel Rooms, Paid State/Super Regional/World Berths, etc. It will be up to you and your team. Mix match any prize until you spend all your money.

Wish this was available when I played!!!! Not every team wants or needs uniforms, bats, etc. so I want to appeal to everyone. After all, its all about the players right. I am happy to see other organizations stepping up to the plate and giving away better prize packages. If we had something to do with that then its great, if we didnt, who cares, just stop pocketing all this money and remember what its all about. The players, the teams, the game. Ok I am off my soap box now. Good luck guys/girls and I look forward to seeing everyone at the Worlds!!!!

Any questions on my new prize pack info please let me know.

Can anybody recommend any leagues around the Raleigh or Durham area? Our league might not have their $#it together and might lose their fields.

Depends on what you're looking for. Raleigh Park and Rec is probably the largest league in the area but are under ASA rules. Im on two teams out there.

Garner has a Utrip league which is very competitive, probably the best league ball around (at least it was two years ago when I played out there).

Ive sub'd in Cary and Apex and they seem to have good programs and fields but not quite as good as Raleigh.

Havent played in Durham, but Ive heard some okay things about the league. 280' fences with Utrip rules but that league is in N. Durham.

Yeah, we'd prefer ASA rules. Looks like Raleigh is having registrations in about a week. How do they check the residency thing? Based upon the address on your license or what?
